Don’t Judge a Book By Its Cover

One of the unsung heroes of the cartoon idea is the book jacket blurb. They’re short, they’re plentiful, and they’re full of jargon and superlatives — all of which make for terrific jumping off points.

I don’t remember which book it was, but one blurb went something like “John’s a total doer! He can really make things happen! And the results speak for themselves!”

It didn’t take much to rearrange that and add the comedic cherry on top at the end.
