The latest trend in stress relief might surprise you. Some customers aren’t working through their issues in doctors’ offices or taking pills to relieve their stress. Instead, they’re smashing things.
Rage rooms are new types of businesses popping up around the country that let customers take baseball bats to breakable items in order to work through their stress or anger. The businesses provide items like dishes and furniture or let you bring your own items to smash. And they even provide customers with protective clothing so you don’t get cut by any flying glass.
Psychologists don’t think that going into a room to smash some tchotchke really provides any significant long-term benefits. But in the short term, customers seem to enjoy it. Prices vary from rage room to rage room. And so far customers seem willing to pay handsomely for the privilege to work out their issues in this way.
